Direct Services

Indirect Services

Instruction - whole class, small group, and individual lessons are taught to encourage academic, social-emotional, and career development growth. Lessons help to improve attendance, behavior, and academics.

Appraisal - I use assessment tools to help students discover their interests, skills, abilities leading to short and long-term goals.

Advisement - I use data to help students realize their potential and plan for the future. With the support of families, teachers, and community members, I make recommendations for opportunities to help students achieve their goals.

Counseling - I provide short-term support to students helping them recognize a problem, its source, and its potential outcomes. I empower students to take action and make decisions while promoting academic, social-emotional, and career growth.

I meet with students to help develop mindsets and abilities for student success. Direct services increase achievement and attendance, and decrease discipline problems. Direct services include:

I provide services on behalf of students as I reach out for support from the community. This ensures equity and access for all students. Indirect services include:

Consultation - I advocate for student academic, career, and social-emotional needs. I provide information and recommendations for students, seeking input from my colleagues.

Collaboration - I work with families, teachers, administrators to improve academics and attendance, and decrease discipline problems. I serve on several school committees, lead parent workshops, and work in partnership with community organizations to help with crisis response.

Referrals - I recognize when a student needs services beyond what I can offer. Referrals to outside agencies can include tutoring for academics, social-emotional support, and mental health support for abuse, depression and suicide ideation, or other concerns.
