Mrs. Barnes
Hi Eagle families! I am excited to be your School Counselor at Harmony Elementary School. I earned my undergraduate degree in Social Sciences and Elementary Education from Seattle Pacific University. I earned a Master's of Educational Technology from City University in Seattle, WA. My Master's of School Counseling is from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
I have spent the last 30 years in education, working in five school districts and in various roles. I have been a classroom teacher in multiple grade levels, a gifted and talented teacher, a Learning Assistance Program teacher, a technology teacher, a librarian, and a Social-Emotional learning teacher. I am thrilled to fulfill my dream of supporting students as a school counselor, and I am grateful for each role that has prepared me for this.
I am passionate about relationships with students. I look forward to helping your child succeed and thrive through academics, social-emotional needs, and career readiness in one-on-one time, small group sessions, and classroom lessons.
In my free time, I love to spend time with my husband, our 4 children, and our dog. We love to travel and go on fun adventures. I enjoy reading, puzzles, and the outdoors.
I can’t wait to meet you. Stop by and say hello!
Hello!
